Misty came to us as a 7-week-old puppy before there was any thought that her sire (River) would become part of our kennel. As a 12 week old puppy, she stuck her head in the feed pan of one of the hounds that lived here and sustained a broken jaw and limped on her left front leg for several days. She has since grown into a compact, strong dog.
Misty is a very observant dog and taught herself to sit and stay, after watching the other dogs sit and stay for me at feeding time. She was in training for Hunt Test competitions, but shutdowns due to the Wuhan virus caused a delay in pursuing her hunt test titles in 2020. Misty has her CGC title.
Misty is light brown and weighs 81 pounds. She brings River’s desire and intensity in a slightly smaller, more controlled package. She has earned her place here at Sky Pond with the three litters she has whelped. Lark from her first litter and Rose from her second litter, also reside her at Sky Pond.
