Our Chesapeake Bay Retrievers are guaranteed to be non-affected by: Degenerative Myelopathy (DM), Exercise Induced Collapse (EIC) and by Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA). Our puppies’ elbows and hips are guaranteed a passing OFA score (normal elbows – fair, good, or excellent hips) for up to 28 months. Eyes are also guaranteed up to28 months to pass a CERF eye exam. If any dog should fail to meet any of these guaranteed health qualifications, please contact us as soon as possible, and a credit will be given for the value of the original puppy toward another puppy or started Chesapeake Bay Retriever from Sky Pond Chesapeakes. Please note, our guarantee is a replacement credit toward a replacement puppy or started dog, NOT a refund. We do not refund money for puppies. Guaranteed dogs do not need to be returned in order to receive a replacement credit. To qualify for this credit, the dog must have been kept in healthy living conditions and not neglected. Additionally, the dog must have been examined by a certified veterinarian, ophthalmologist, or DNA interpretive lab and the results presented to Sky Pond Chesapeakes. The dog must not have been bred, spayed or neutered before 24 months of age. Finally, the dog must not exhibit injuries due to trauma and be in possession of the original owner.
